Sophien-Klinik Vahrenwald

Modern with a homelike atmosphere

Small but nice - this is a statement that definitely applies to the Sophien-Klinik Vahrenwald. 15 visiting medical consultants - most of them have their medical practice just around the corner in immediate proximity to the hospital - do care for their approx. 2,000 patients per year. In its 40-year-history, this has led to constant further medical and technological development of the house with its 29 beds - without ever losing the homelike atmosphere, which can be such an important factor for quick recuperation.

Anaesthesia, gynaecology and surgery are those 3 specialty fields provided in the Sophien-Klinik Vahrenwald. Within the gynaecology department incontinence surgery and breast surgery are the hospital's focus. Endoprosthetics, cruciate knee ligament surgery and minimally invasive surgery, i.e. interventions with surgical insturments by applying a very small cut only are performed on a daily basis in the Sophien-Klinik Vahrenwald. Unique for general practitioner's hospitals in the whole of Northern Germany is the minimally invasive surgery of the gall, minmally invasive treatment of inguinal hernias as well as appendictomies by using minimal invasive surgery and 2-mm-sized instruments. We are also using the latest technology with regard to surgery of the thyroid gland with Neurosign monitoring, where the vocal cord is monitored during the actual surgery.
